Week 9 (March 2nd- March 8th)

Wednesday:

The Royal London Hospital Museum. Satisfied my forensic anthropological curiosity by seeing an exact replica Joseph Merrick's (aka the Elephant Man's) skeleton! His real skeleton is only to be viewed by medical students upon Merrick's request because he wished to answer his medical condition (which is still undiagnosed, but determined as a congenital condition) but to not be viewed as a freak after death. It amazes me how human bone can alter and adapt to its external environment and changes in our bodies. I cannot imagine the excruciating pain Merrick must have suffered from the weight of his skin growths/tumors and how his bone altered to support it. The deformation of his skeleton is a wonder. The museum also had an excellent collection of medical tools and texts for procedures from the 17th century to modern day.

Windsor. Wish I had more time to view all of Windsor Castle, but at least I was able to see some of it.

Replica of the engine used to pull the Queen's train

Windsor Castle
An official residence of the Queen and the largest occupied castle in the world.
A Royal home and fortress for over 900 years.
The Queen uses the Castle both as a private home, and as a Royal residence in
which she undertakes certain formal duties.

Amazing homemade fudge shop. I'm not really a huge fan of fudge, but this stuff was phenomenal.
Got some Chocolate Coconut :)

Queen Victoria

The Ancient Well
Ye Olde Kings Head
It was built during the reign of Elizabeth I.
Also where Shakespeare wrote "The Merry Wives of Windsor"

Stonehenge. I cannot express in words the excitement I felt to finally see Stonehenge in person. I even mustered up some tears from my overbearing joy. Hated that the only time it rained on my trip was while at the site, but I was still an unreal experience.
Warning, there will be numerous pictures of adorable fluffy sheep haha
